Water is all you need to remove tough stains like red wine, tomato sauce and pet mishaps. This is thanks to the breakthrough Redbook Green triexta carpet fibres that are negatively charged, naturally repelling spills to prevent stains. Put simply, staining can occur on regular carpets when a spill bonds to the fibre. But Redbook Green triexta carpets have no dye sites, preventing spills from adhering and becoming stains. <p>The International Living Future Institute (ILFI), and local affiliate the Living Future Institute of Australia (LFIA), are organisations committed to driving sustainable change in the Australian Built environment through the development of leading edge programs, that are designed to radically change our approach to building and construction.</p>

<p>Predicated on creating a healthier built environment, the Declare® program delivers clear, unambiguous information about building material specifications. Participating manufacturers are required to disclose a Product’s entire constituent chemical composition to a threshold of 100-parts-per-million; essentially creating a ‘nutrition’ label of ingredients.</p>

<h3><strong>A product transparency program</strong></h3>

<p>Each Declare® label is compared against a list of worst-inclass materials, better known as the Red List. Chemicals on the Red List can pose an increased risk of:</p>

	<li>Polluting the environment</li>
	<li>Bio-accumulation of contaminants progressing up the food chain</li>

<p>An extension of the Australian Carpet Classification Scheme (ACCS), the Environmental Certification Scheme tests carpet to ensure they meet stringent environmental performance standards such as volatile organic compound emissions, noise reduction and thermal insulation properties (For more information visit: <a href="https://www.carpetinstitute.com.au/environmental/">www.carpetinstitute.com.au/environmental/</a>)</p>

<p>As a prerequisite for the ECS program, carpet manufacturers must comply with the Code of Practice for Environmental Management (including performance criteria for raw materials, the manufacturing process, the carpet during its use and at the end of its life).</p>

<p>ECS Level 4+ is the highest standard within the ECS program. This stringent program is a Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) approved third party, with Green Star Level 4 certification providing at least a minimum of 12 Green Star points.</p>

<p>This carpet, with an appropriate underlay and installation method, meets the requirements of Australian NCC Spec. C1.10 relating to fire hazard properties for flooring in class 2 – 9 buildings.</p>

<p>Dreamtime Flooring was born in 2022 from a deep aspiration drawn from director, Josh Haddock’s connection to Indigenous culture, this is the essence of Dreamtime Flooring: the missing link connecting culture, artwork and flooring. This can only come from engaging with a 100% Indigenously owned business-like Dreamtime Flooring. Josh being a Yorta Yorta man raised in Morwell, VIC on Gunai Kurnai Country himself, wanted to create a business that celebrated the Indigenous culture through flooring while engaging with other Indigenous businesses, helping to streamline income back into Indigenous communities.</p>

<p>For generations, Indigenous people have shared culture through stories and artwork. At Dreamtime Flooring, Indigenous heritage is drawn from to celebrate this rich culture through the flooring medium in the hopes of preserving those stories for our future generations. </p>

<p>Dreamtime's mission is to have as many buildings as possible for current and future generations to see Aboriginal ancestry and culture with a particular focus on public buildings: Government, council, schools, libraries and galleries. The visuals give us cues for our other senses, and they are how we understand the world. And with Optic Reset, interior space can be created with subtle or dramatic views on the floor.</p>

<p>This concept is illustrative of The Visual Age, where there is visual literacy and creative democracy for all, and we have become fluent in the elements of graphics, photography, design, and art. This fresh take on the original Lichen collection offers an additional bark texture to join the popular stone base, serving as ground textures for the multi-hued lichens that grow together in place.</p>


<h2>Biophilic design, locally made</h2>
<p>Biophilic design aims to enhance humankind’s innate biological connection with nature, bringing natural elements into interior spaces and mimicking natural patterns. This new collection concentrates on mimicking the growth patterns of real lichens on stone and tree bark, incorporating colours that takes us on a visual journey through the forest, from the floor into the trees with the new warm, bark-grey background and soft, more muted highlights. Drawing from the natural world allows us to create spaces a little more connected to our roots, which can have a profound impact the health and wellbeing of building occupants.</p>

<p>One of the key features of Lichen Community is its biophilic three-plank system which allows for wayfinding and the creation of unique large-scale installations.
