Faces of Manufacturing

As one of Australia’s largest manufacturers and exporters of residential and commercial carpets, Redbook produces thousands of metres of carpet in state-of-the-art Australian facilities every day.

We proudly operate four carpet manufacturing facilities, three yarn processing facilities, 10 distribution centres, and 14 sales offices across Australia and New Zealand.

Currently, Redbook employs over 1,000 people, of which roughly half are employed in Australia and half in New Zealand. Our partnership with the official Australian Made campaign aligns us with Australia’s most trusted, recognised and widely used country of origin symbol, underpinned by a third-party accreditation system that authenticates genuinely Australian products.

Our local investment in people, manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution provides total supply chain capability, ensuring quality control and consistency from product design, right through to delivery.

Aaron Dawson - Manufacturing Manager

Introducing Aaron Dawson, our Manufacturing Manager. Aaron started at Godfrey Hirst 30 years ago in the Wool Spinning department cleaning machine parts during the Christmas Holidays, and never left!

One of the biggest changes that Aaron noted during his time at Godfrey Hirst is when the company acquired Feltex in 2006.  The entire wool spinning operations were relocated to New Zealand and that involved a move for Aaron where he managed the factory in Wellington for 7 years. No stranger to acquisitions, he also experienced the 2018 Mohawk Flooring purchase of the group and notes that while initially apprehensive, the business has retained it’s strong family values.

A huge advocate of manufacturing here in Australia, Aaron is very aware of and has witnessed the depletion of the manufacturing sector in this country over the last 20 years. To this end he feels proud to still be manufacturing locally in Geelong where Godfrey Hirst is a large employer of people.

As Manufacturing Manager, Aaron’s daily priorities are Safety, Quality and Production targets.
