Continuous Improvement
Our philosophy is one of continuous improvement. From 2020 to 2022 we reduced our scope 1 and 2 emissions by 10% across Australia and New Zealand through efficiency initiatives and installing significant solar generation. In Geelong, Australia, we have installed a 500kW solar panel system, supplying nearly 30% of the site's electricity requirements across 1088 panels. Another 100kW unit, 220 solar panels have been operating at our Truganina site since Jan 2020 and 226 solar panels have now been installed at our Laverton site.
In New Zealand, we have installed 1,560 solar panels at our Auckland facility and 738 panels at our Dannevirke plant, generating 30% and 45% of each plant's electricity requirements respectively.
In addition, we have committed to contributing to our group SBTi (Science Based Target initiative) 2030 Emissions Reduction Objectives1 of:
- Scope 1 & 2: 42% reduction; and
- Scope 3: 12.3% reduction2.
